  • To ethically use information and avoid plagiarism, students must know how to cite their sources.  Citations may be intimidating but they are crucial.  The information below will help you cite information accurately.  
  • The first step is to determine if you will use MLA or APA format.  MLA format is typically used in the Humanities (i.e.: English, Theatre, Art) and APA format is typically used in the social sciences (i.e.: Psychology, Sociology, Social Work).  
  • Once you've located your sources and are ready to begin writing your paper or completing your project, use the guides below to assist you.  ​
  • Citation Generators do a lot of the work for you but they are not foolproof!  Always provide missing information and check the accuracy of the citation provided.  The Citation Generators also provide helpful research guides.
